We Can Help!
Evaluations
Evaluations assess a child's skills in all areas of concern using a combination of:

-
Parent interview about your child's developmental, medical, and academic history
-
Observation of your child crawling, walking, running, jumping, climbing, etc.
-
Fine motor-based activities (cutting, coloring, using two hands together, etc.)
-
Assessment of sensory processing skills (ability to sit and attend to an activity, distractability, reactions to noise, sound, lights, and touch)
-
Standardized assessments to understand your child's skills in relation to the typical development of same-age peers
Following the evaluation, we will discuss the results and recommendations. If therapy is recommended, we collaborate with parents to develop a plan of treatment and goals.
Therapy
At The Therapy SPOT, our occupational therapists use evidence-based approaches to deliver engaging and fun therapy to support your child in their individual areas of need. Occupational therapy helps children develop skills and confidence for self-care, play, social interactions, and academics. Depending on your child's needs, therapy may take place in our gym, a therapy room, or outside. Whenever possible, parents are invited to participate in or observe our therapy sessions. Our occupational therapists will also dedicate time to connect with parents and provide education for strategies and tools to provide ongoing support and practice at home. Our occupational therapists have specialized training in Learning Without Tears® and Integrated Listening Systems® (iLs).
