Referrals from Parents

We accept referrals directly from parents. It is best practice to discuss your concerns with your pediatrician/specialist and obtain a prescription from your doctor. This prescription allows the entire care team to be involved and work together. If you are billing insurance or submitting a Superbill, a prescription is required at the time of scheduling your appointment. Please contact us to discuss your concerns and to determine if a physician's prescription is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my insurance cover the cost of therapy services?

Many insurances do cover the cost of therapies, but in the event that you do not have coverage for therapy or if you have high co-pays, we can provide you with information regarding grants and special programs available to help offset the cost of therapies, copays, equipment, and community-based recreational activities.

What if I am unsure if my child needs an evaluation?

If you have questions about your child's development and are wondering if an evaluation is appropriate, contact us at frontdesk@therapyspotstatesboro.com to schedule a free phone consultation with one of our therapists. During this short phone conversation, you can share your concerns about your child's development, and our therapists will ask questions, address concerns you have, and make a recommendation for your child.

What is the harm in waiting to see if my child catches up?

The important question to ask yourself might be what is the harm of not doing therapy? What is the long-term impact for your child and your family if they continue to struggle with communication, sensory, motor, social, and/or behavioral challenges? We know that most children do not outgrow these challenges, and those persistent struggles coping with the demands of everyday life often lead to secondary self-esteem, behavioral and/or emotional consequences.

Who will be providing these services to my child?

Your child will be evaluated and treated by licensed and certified speech, physical, and occupational therapists.

Will my child receive therapy in a group or individually?

All of our therapy sessions are one-on-one, individual sessions working on each child's specific goals.

How often will my child come to therapy?

Most children attend therapy sessions 1-2 times weekly based on recommendation given by the evaluating therapist.

Do you provide services in the home?

Our therapists provide clinic-based services; however, telehealth services are also an option and many insurance companies cover telehealth services.

What is teletherapy and is it effective?

Using a secure live video chat, children are able to participate in therapy sessions from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Teletherapy is effective for many and is endorsed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Are you currently hiring?
