MCD, CCC-Speech-Language Pathologist
Ashley joined The Therapy SPOT in September 2015 as a speech-language pathologist. Ashley graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. She earned her Masters degree in Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina in 2014. Prior to beginning her career as a speech-language pathologist in 2014, Ashley taught special education in public schools for over four years. As a speech-language pathologist Ashley has worked in the public school system, serving preschool and school-aged children in both school and community based settings. Ashley has also worked in early intervention and skilled nursing facilities. Ashley’s clinical practicum experiences exposed her to a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, outpatient clinics, and The Therapy SPOT. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in Georgia. Ashley has received specialized training to treat children with apraxia of speech using Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol. She has also receive specialized training in the area of Orofacial Myology and is a certification track candidate. Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, Duff, and their dog, Mattie. Her hobbies include watching football, going to the beach, cooking, and reading. Ashley is excited to join The Therapy SPOT family and looks forward to help improve the lives of her patients and their families!
